A REQUEST BY LETTER

Holy Father, His Eminence, The Vicar of Christ, Basil I:

It is by my lord's instruction that I pen this letter as these are his words and his intentions.  It is the dying wish of Archduke Saverio II to henceforth and forevermore recognize the 'Calabrian Republic' as 'The Kingdom of Calabria'.  It is the dying wish of Archduke Saverio II, Sovereign of the Calabrian Republic, to name his first born son as King, and grant to him all entitlements which coincide with such a title.  If it pleases The Papacy to honor my lord's request please send word to Matteo in San Donato.  I will be en route to Scaddedio, San Donato, for funerary services for my master.

The "Last Request of the Archduke" is now open for discussion for the College of Cardinals for 7 days. Every cardinal is requested to voice their opinion on this matter, and to submit their vote in the following format after their arguments.

Cardinal Federico Iannuzzi: "The decision is simple. During times of strife, in which we currently find ourselves, it would seem wise to give strength to those who need it. A king may make decisions more swiftly than the filtered power structure which exists in a republic so that the Papal States may be easier defended. My vote is for."

Cardinal Germano Nascimbeni: "Well said, my good man. My vote is also for."

Cardinal Bakocz: Calabria has shown us that they defend the True Faith. It is rightful for the Calabrian rulers to call themselves King.
