House of the Wise Owl

Ingvald Svensson the Uniter is wise and old, he is just now reaching his 64th year of age. But do not be fooled by his age, for he will seek to destroy all who are in his path. Ingvald has a bit of a temper, many are killed with a flying hatchet or a crushing mace whenever he gets angry. Ingvald helped his father unite the Tribes of Rus together when he was of the age of 17, he created a name for himself by using his silver tongue. Many threats of war were uttered from his mouth, and everyone knew he wouldn't hesitate to do them. Most of the tribes joined because his father had the largest army in Rus and resistance was futile. But Ingvald believes he was really the one that united the tribes.

Spoiler:

Eira the Merciful is known for her kindness. Many women of the tribes come and ask for her support and help. Eira then usually coaxes Ingvald into solving the problem. Eira tries helping the female population of Rus, the first step is to get more rights to her people group. Eira is currently 52 years of age.

Frode the Fearless is a 33 year old man who is the heir to the throne. Frode is the eldest son of the Oberjarl and the best swordsmen in Helsinki. Frode always seeks for adventure, whenever he goes hunting Frode always has his eyes set on a vicious wolf or a fierce grizzly.

Ivar the Patient is the younger brother of Frode, he is 26 years old. Ivar is known to be very calculating and strategic. He has many times before helped various Jarls of Rus in conquering more territory for themselves. That is for a nice pay...

Kari the Swift is a viciously accurate archer. Her passion lies with archery, Ingvald the Oberjarl and father of Kari has created a legion of archers for Kari to lead and command. Kari trains this legion, they are just now becoming known in the tribes. Kari is 19 years of age.

Oz the House Owl roosts in the great hall, he really is the favorite pet of the whole village of Helsinki. Everyone who enters the hall gives little Oz a piece of meat or a soft pet on his head. Every night Ingvald allows Oz to fly away and catch something, he always comes back.

Oberjarl and Jarls

Oberjarl Ingvald Svensson the Uniter helped his father unite the tribes at the age of 17. Every tribe in Rus knows of the power and strength of Ingvald's tribe. They respect him greatly, enough for him to be the Oberjarl.


Jarl Holger Bjornsson the Widower is a rather unlucky man. At the age of 46 he has already lost 3 wives. Two of them died from a sickness, and the other committed suicide for an unknown reason. Jarl Holger has nerves of steel, having suffered three terrible tragedies he continues to fight for all of Rus. He believes his wife is Rus instead now (Really devoted to his position and doesn't want to seek another wife.).


Jarl Leif Ulfsson the Serpent Slayer was born a bastard. Many beat and abused him when he was young, Leif learned to tough it out and made a living by selling the fish he caught. By the age of 30 Leif became a well respected warrior. Now at the age of 42 even the bullies of his childhood call him Jarl.


Jarl Rangvaldr Torsteinsson the Wicked is famed for turning into a raging bull when he fights. He trains many in his tribe to fight like animals, to go berserk. Rangvaldr is also known for lighting his beard on fire during battle, obviously he has to regrow it afterwards, but that is little cared about to the power of intimidation. Rangvaldr's tribe is known to be very barbaric and uncivilized, but all they need to have a great time is a good mug of ale and a laugh or two.


Jarl George Roscoesson the Stubborn is known for two things, helping Kari the Swift mount her archers on his horses, and sticking to what he thinks is right no matter the costs. George is a very outspoken individual, if he sees something he does not like he will tell you and all around him. George's tribe owns a giant herd of horses, many of them have already been enlisted into the Rus military.


Jarl Julia Fjoelnirsdottir the Red: Hear her call! Hear her screaming cry! Julia has been known to make everyone hear her when she comes, in the beginning of each battle her warriors make as much noise as they can. One of her favorite tactics is to attack when the enemy is sleeping.


Jarl Ver Jatgeirsson the Powerful once took on an army of 2000 when he only had 800. Before that Ver trained his men to become the best spear-men in the Northern Lands. Jarl Ver and his men also created the Varok ship, a pursuer, boarder, and looter.


Jarl Regina Nikolaisdottir the Spine Splitter is known for her deadly accuracy in the art of swordsmanship. The Oberjarl's own son Frode learned from her. Jarl Regina is seen as the best sword user in all of Rus. Regina has also started the Nordskiig Maiden Order, an elite warrior order dedicated to woman.

High Seer Vidar Thorsson the Mysterious

Not much is known about the Seer's faith. But what is known is that each tribe has their own Seer, which that Seer has their own apprentice that they pass down their skills for. A Seer picks a random boy or girl and takes them away from their family, it is seen as a great honor to be chosen. There is only one High Seer in all of the tribes. Everyone apart of the Seer Order would never tell any outsiders about their faith or what they know. A Seer is usually asked for the future. But sometimes you can ask a Seer if the gods favor a decision you have made. Seers have also been known to warn their tribes of great disasters or problems that they have discovered by some omen or sign.
