Rhaymsian Coasts
Raiders from the North Attack!
In the northern territories of the Duchy of Rahimes reports of raiders attack and looting coastal towns and villages. The raid parties usually consist of no more than one hundred armed men and women and they have no problem with killing men, women and children that get in their way. The raids are quick, and are usually over by the time local guards arrive. As the Raiders sail away, the wolf banner of Rorukheim is seen on the vessels.

Rhaymsian Response!
2 days after the attacks a man stands outside the grand-duke's palace demanding to speak to the duke himself. He was tall and fat, a noble, Count Trebinard Alard Lord of many of the villages and towns that were raided. After a couple of minutes the gates opened to reveal the prince.
He quickly recognized Trebinard and said "Good to see you Trebinard, what has brought you here?".
"Greetings my prince, i apologize but i must speak with the duke. A great tragedy has struck Rhaymes. 2 days ago raiders from the north arrived, Looted and burned countless towns in normandy and southern brittany."
"I apologize but the duke is ill and cannot speak with you, please come inside and we will discuss this further"
They both enter the palace and resume their talk
"My prince, those.. those demons, they arrived on their ships hundreds of them. I was in my court in Caen when i heard their warcries. They struck so fast we were barely able to mount a defense, we pushed them back in Caen but other towns were not so lucky. As they sailed away we were able to catch a glimpse at their flags... It was black with a red wolf in the middle. Some of my men are saying they are nords from rorukheim, a kingdom in the north, i have also heard rumors of a nord settlement in Kent"
"hmmmm... I am afraid there is not much we can do now. I will give you 1000 troops use them to defend the major cities and rebuild what was razed, i will also send a diplomat to Kent... Let us hope they are reasonable... I assume you will be leaving, count."
"Yes i will, i must spread the news to the other lords."
Three days later a ship reaches the shores of kent, 40 men strong...

Your ship finds a fleet of no less than twenty-ships sailing down the river Thames. They don't seem to be very interested in your vessel, and continue to sail west. A keep can be seen by the river, it flies the Rorukheimian flag above it.

The ships landed a fair way ahead of the keep. The diplomat and 10 bodyguards leave the ship and head for the keep. As they reach the keep one of the bodyguards yells "we bring to you a representative of the grand-duchy of rhaymes. We wish to speak to the lord of this keep"

Keep Graywall, Kent
Seeing the arrival of an unknown ship a guard rushes back to inform the captain in charge of the keep. He follows the captain and the captain appears before the strangers above the gate. He shouts back at them. "Hva bringer deg hit? Hva vil du ha?"Rhaimes wrote:The ships landed a fair way ahead of the keep. The diplomat and 10 bodyguards leave the ship and head for the keep. The guards on the walls look tense and ready for a fight, if one occurs.

Seeing the enemy tense up puts the guards on edge and are ready for anything.
Charles looks at one of the guards and asks "You're supposed to be our translator, what did he say? Are they danes?"
"He asked what brings us here and yes, as far as i can tell they are danes. "
"hmm.... Tell him that you bring an emissary from the grand duchy of rhaymes and ask for permission to enter"
The guard replies "Jeg bringer en udsending fra storhertugdømmet i Rhaimes. Må vi komme ind?" while pointing at the emissary

"Vi er bare vakter fra dette slottet. Hvis du ønsker å levere meldingen, seile opp elva til byen Lunden. Det er der vår Herre Ormr er."
He points down river.

"He says we should continue down the river, to the town of london sir"
"You heard him, we're leaving."
The Group packs up and leaves not much later they reach the ship and set off
They reach the city as dusk draws near. As they approach it they notice an empty dock and decide to dock the ship there.

As your ship docks, a few guards look at it, but just assume you're traders and let you into the city.Rhaimes wrote:"He says we should continue down the river, to the town of london sir"

Charles and 4 of his men leave the ship and approach the group of guards.
The translator says "Vi er repræsentanter for rhaymes storhertugdømmetid, vi skal straks tale med din herre"

The City of Lunden, Danelaw
The guard simply responds, with a gruff voice, "Å, er det slik? Du finner Ormr på fortet i gamlebyen". He turns back to his friends and they begin to chat once again. It clear they aren't gonna be much help anymore. Thus Charles and his guards walk through the crowded streets of Lunden. Prosperity and abundance flows through the crowded roads, as it the largest trading town on the Thames. Strolling through the streets, Charles finds the walls of the old roman town, in the center of it a fort. As you approach the fort, the screams of men become for apparent, as does the increasing number of Northmen. On the out side of the fort, Charles sees three bodies hang from the wall. You enter, without any guard stopping you. Entering the courtyard you see a two figures speaking. One of them seems to be tied down on a cross, the other looms over him. Men standing on either side have hammers and nails in their hands. Charles picks up their conversation as he approaches, he takes note that the man on the cross is a priest. The priest seems to be begging for his life. "Please lord, have mercy!" He cries out. The Dane questioning him seems to grow increasingly... amused by this pathetic priest. The Dane speaks, saying, "If you want mercy priest tell me about the unrest in the west, or I will hang you to dry". The Priest, eyeing the men with nails and hammers begins to stammer, "T-t-the lords to the west have formed against you! They call themselves Dumnonia! Please lord Ormr, that's all I know!"Rhaimes wrote:Charles and 4 of his men leave the ship and approach the group of guards.

The man know as Ormr looks at the priest and with a fake smile, "Thank you, you've been most "helpful". Nagle ham ned."
The priest screams as the nails are hammered into his wrists. Ormr walks away to a nearby table, with flagons and begins to drink out of one. He turns around and spots Charles. He approaches Charles and his guards. "You!" he shouts, "What brings you here? This is not a place for traders."

Less than 4 days ago countless ships flying the rorukheim banner raided our coast and as such i came here to negotiate with you. We will easily be able to ship troops and supplies. Choose wisely lord, we will join you or we will bring you down."

Ormr leans against a near by column, drinking from his flagon. He doesn't seem to care, instead has a thick air of arrogance around him. As Charles finishes, Ormr downs the last of his flagon. Looking at the empty mug, he tosses it over his shoulder. He pushes himself off the column and walks up to Charles, until they are face to face. With a smug smile he says, "And why should we require you? I've fought many Saxon lords here, all have fallen before me. You can see their bodies hanging from the walls." He backs off a bit and starts to walk away. "If you want the raids to stop, that can only be declared by my father... King Ragnar. Now if don't have anything else to say, I am gonna give you... ten seconds to leave or become apart of my enter-" He's cut short by a new voice entering the fort.Rhaimes wrote:Rorukheim wrote:The guard simply responds, with a gruff voice, "Å, er det slik? "Herren Ormr! Jeg tar med nyheter fra din far!" says the approaching northman, an whole warband behind him. They seem to be dragging several chest and someone along with them. Ormr turns around, and a smile appears on his lips.
"Asger!" Ormr calls back. "Hva bringer deg til England?"
They grab each others for arms, and smack each other on their backs. They talk together for a moment, creating a serious atmosphere as they discuss something important. Although he only had a glimpse, Charles swears he saw a cloth with a black cross on it. The two seem to say farewell as the part. The chest are placed throughout the courtyard and the figure the "Vikings" brought is dragged away. Ormr looks at Charles, then with a sigh walks up to them.
"Alright. How about this, we will agree to stop the raids on your country and we will give you the western half of Dumnonia and Conwall. In exchange you send four thousand men here to fight and block anyone from leaving the Seine. Deal?" He extends his hand out to Charles.
